BIO
Born on April 15, 1981, and raised in the heart of Antwerp, Tanguy developed a love for his city early on, thanks to the captivating stories shared by his beloved grandmother (1919-2018). Her tales about the metropolis and its delightful anecdotes inspired him to explore and share Antwerp’s rich history.
In 2007, Tanguy founded his company, BeroepsAntwerpenaar, and published his debut book the same year. His exceptional guiding skills caught the attention of the New York Times in 2011, which praised him for his expertise in the fashion scene.
By 2013, he was recognized by CNN as one of the "7 Savviest Guides in the World." In 2015, he expanded his company to several cities beyond Antwerp, including Ghent, Bruges, Brussels, Leuven, Mechelen, and Knokke-Heist. This growth transformed BeroepsBelg into a company known today for its high-quality private guides in Belgium.
Tanguy has authored numerous books on the history of Belgium, covering cities like Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, and Knokke-Heist, as well as several children’s books that bring legends to life.
With 19 books to his name and a 20th in the works, his passion for storytelling continues to thrive. An engaging speaker, Tanguy has represented Belgium internationally, sharing his love for his country in places like Bangkok, New York and Sint-Petersburg.
He is also the driving force behind the installation of the most photographed statue of "Nello & Patrasche" outside the Cathedral of Antwerp.
